在考虑光纤损耗及高阶色散的情况下,以三、四阶色散项的耦合非线性薛定谔方程为基础,研究高阶色散对交叉相位调制不稳定性的影响.研究表明:三阶色散对调制不稳定性不起作用;由于四阶色散的影响,在光纤的正常、反常色散区,交叉相位调制不稳定性均发生在两个频谱区.且反常色散区两频谱区都比正常色散区的宽,反常色散区第二频谱区比正常色散区的更靠近零点.光纤损耗对增益谱的谱宽有较大影响,它使增益的谱宽变窄,且随传输距离的增大谱宽变得更窄.  相似文献

Arc-produced carbon multi-walled nanotubes (MWNTs) were fluorinated at 420 °C in a flow of diluted F2 gas containing small admixture of HF gas. Fluorinated materials (F-MWNTs) with 10–55 wt.% fluorine content were studied by XPS. It was shown that fluorination begins at the external layers of nanotubes and the reaction front propagates inside the multi-layer particles in concert with structural deterioration of graphene layers. The C2F stoichiometry still allows MWNT wall integrity, similar to known for SWNTs. The fluorine contents in the product can noticeably exceed this higher fluorine limit for tube stability. The position of the F 1s line at 688.2 eV does not depend on the fluorine concentration. Nearly covalent C–F bonds dominate the F-MWNT samples, with a small quantity (2–9%) of ionic bonds also present. Fluorinated carbon tends to spatially separate from non-fluorinated carbon.  相似文献

When operating under lean fuel–air conditions, flame flashback is an operational safety issue in stationary gas turbines. In particular, with the increased use of hydrogen, the propagation of the flame through the boundary layers into the mixing section becomes feasible. Typically, these mixing regions are not designed to hold a high-temperature flame and can lead to catastrophic failure of the gas turbine. Flame flashback along the boundary layers is a competition between chemical reactions in a turbulent flow, where fuel and air are incompletely mixed, and heat loss to the wall that promotes flame quenching. The focus of this work is to develop a comprehensive simulation approach to model boundary layer flashback, accounting for fuel–air stratification and wall heat loss. A large eddy simulation (LES) based framework is used, along with a tabulation-based combustion model. Different approaches to tabulation and the effect of wall heat loss are studied. An experimental flashback configuration is used to understand the predictive accuracy of the models. It is shown that diffusion-flame-based tabulation methods are better suited due to the flashback occurring in relatively low-strain and lean fuel–air mixtures. Further, the flashback is promoted by the formation of features such as flame tongues, which induce negative velocity separated boundary layer flow that promotes upstream flame motion. The wall heat loss alters the strength of these separated flows, which in turn affects the flashback propensity. Comparisons with experimental data for both non-reacting cases that quantify fuel–air mixing and reacting flashback cases are used to demonstrate predictive accuracy.  相似文献

Frequency- and temperature-dependent dielectric and switching parameters of a room temperature tri-component antiferroelectric liquid crystal mixture W-287 have been determined. Dielectric, optical texture and thermodynamic studies show wide room temperature range antiferroelectric SmC*a (?91.1°C to <–25°C) phase in addition to high temperature paraelectric SmA* (?2.6°C) and ferroelectric SmC* (?4.4°C) phases. The dielectric studies carried out in the frequency range of 1–35 MHz under planar anchoring condition of the molecules show five different relaxation modes appearing in the SmA*, SmC* and SmC*a phases. Using Curie–Weiss law fit, ferroelectric SmC* to paraelectric SmA* transition temperature has been found to be 91.8°C. The dielectric response of SmC*a phase exhibits unusually three relaxation modes due to collective as well as individual molecular processes in addition to phason mode in the SmC* phase and amplitudon mode in the SmA* phase. Spontaneous polarisation, switching time and rotational viscosity have also been determined. The maximum value of PS is ?300 nC/cm2, whereas viscosity is moderate. Switching time is of the order of few milli seconds.  相似文献

Composite structures are often used in aircraft because of advantages offered by a high strength to weight ratio. Sound transmission through an infinite laminated composite cylindrical shell is studied in the context of the transmission of airborne sound into aircraft interior. The shell is immersed in an external fluid medium and contains an internal fluid, and airflow in an external fluid medium moves with a constant velocity. The different parameters were used to see how laminate specification affected noise transmission. An exact solution is obtained by solving the vibration equation of laminated composite shell and acoustic wave equations simultaneously. Transmission losses (TLs) obtained from numerical solution are compared with those of other authors. The effects of different source condition, structural properties and flight conditions on TL are studied for a range of values, especially, incident angle of the plane wave, Mach number and flight altitude of aircraft, stack sequences, angle of warp and damping.  相似文献

The structural character and steady-state statistics of the turbulence inside a rib-wall circular duct is investigated by the large-eddy simulation (LES) methodology. The impetus of this study is to gain an understanding of the principle physics attributing to minimizing the pressure recovered (or maximizing the pressure loss) within the core flow. For a rib periodicity with height (h) to pitch (p) ratio p/h=5, the computational results show that the majority of turbulence produced due to the rib’s presence is concentrated near the rib crest leading edge. Pairs of counter-rotating streamwise vortices form soon after the leading edge that are quickly convected radially toward the core flow. The turbulent activity within the duct trough region is negligible compared to the turbulence levels of the core flow. At this rib periodicity, the separated shear layers from the trailing edge of each rib nearly reattach to the trough floor before reaching the next rib. The resultant irrecoverable pressure loss in the form a centerline frictional coefficient is verified by an ‘at-sea’ test on board a US Navy submarine. Based on the duct diameter, their Reynolds numbers are ReDLES=8×103 and (ReDexp)avg=4×106, respectively.  相似文献

In order to examine the flow behavior of polymer solutions through porous media, the measurement of pressure loss and the experiment for flow visualization were carried out with wavy channels as one of the model channels of porous media. The test fluids used are aqueous solutions of polyacrylamide (PAA) with two different concentrations. The occurrence of the excess pressure loss, which was not due to the effect of the centrifugal force, was found for the PAA solutions. The relations between the friction factor ratio and the Deborah number were similar to that obtained for the flow through porous media. Furthermore, the results of the flow visualization suggest that the elongational property of the PAA solutions is connected with the occurrence of the excess pressure loss.  相似文献

Mathematical tools and physical models should fit like hand and glove. Traditionally, such an understanding has worked surprisingly well in mechanics and physics. Differential calculus enabled the determination of motion of celestial bodies. Heisenberg's use of Hilbert space applied to calculations in quantum mechanics. These foot steps, however, failed to continue in the field of material science when attempting to address the evolution of material damage. On one hand, the mathematical formulation of the Riemann–Hilbert problem achieved great success for solving macrocrack problems but whether the same tool could be used for lower scale defects seems to be of less concern. This is a surprise because it is not obvious by any means whether microcracks can be distinguished from macrocrack by size difference alone, particularly when they are both treated in a single formulation.There are several issues of the fatigue problem that must be addressed. To begin with, local failure initiating near a surface should be distinguished from global failure that correspond to separation of a specimen into two or more pieces. The interim stages of initiation and termination would depend on the ductility and brittleness of the material in addition to the history of cyclic loading. Three different materials 6061-T6 aluminum, SAE 4340 steel and Ti–8Al–1Mo–1V titanium will therefore be analyzed to show how their uniaxial properties would compare with the dissipation energy density functions and oscillation in temperature. Hysteresis loops for the local material points are determined. Their averages for the ASTM standard hour-glass specimen are then found. They give the global hysteresis loops corresponding to measurements from the uniaxial tests. The local dissipative energy density loops represent the irreversible nature of the materials are also taken into consideration. They are calculated for the soft aluminum and the hard titanium with steel being in between.Obtained also are the cyclic cooling and heating characteristics of the material under fatigue; they fluctuate about the ambient temperature. The -function designating the order and disorder of the fatigue process is also found to be oscillatory in character. Unlike entropy, it is not non-increasing or non-decreasing. It can change sign in a given process. This implies that the order of a system can be enhanced and then impeded or vice versa. Such a behavior is shown to prevail during the initial stage of the fatigue.  相似文献

The spectra of electronenergy loss, excitation functions, and fluorescence spectra in excitation of the vapor of polyphenyls and polyacenes by electron beams of different energies are determined. The influence of successive complication of the molecules under study on these spectralluminescence characteristics is tracked. Unlike the optical absorption spectra, in the spectra of electronenergy loss of all the substances studied one observes a band which is related to the singlettriplet transition S 0T 1. The transitions up to S 0S 5 are recorded in excitation of the molecules by highenergy electrons, including the region of vacuum ultraviolet. From the functions of fluorescence excitation the authors have determined the excitation thresholds that correlate with the energies of the S 1 levels, except for pyrene in which the S 0S 1 transition is forbidden and does not show up not only in photon excitation but also in electronbeam excitation, although the intercombination forbiddenness in the latter case is removed and the S 0T 1 band is observed.  相似文献

We present simple and accurate analytical expressions for the evaluation of splice loss in single-mode graded index fibres. Our analysis is based on simple series expression for fundamental mode of such fibres which we have developed recently. Since splices are highly tolerant for longitudinal separation, we restrict our analysis to cases of transverse offset and angular tilt only. The concerned calculations require much less computations. With examples of step and parabolic index fibres, we show that our predictions agree excellently with the exact results. A useful collection of integration and differentiation formulae involving Bessel functions is presented in the appendix for ready reference to engineering problems of similar computational context.  相似文献
